My company is converting my L1B to a L1A.I wanted to know if i can apply for a green card independently after my L1A has bee approved or does my company needs to process that application.

All Employment Based green card has to be petitioned by the employer. So in your case, you would need to ask you employer to start the process. Only exception are people with "extrodinary ability" (the David Beckham's and Michael J Fox's) and people who fall under "National Interest Waiver" category (EB1 only - people who hold a Ph.D.).

Though not directly related with immigration, I really think everyone should see this movie and hope they would not get into a mess by some sudden medical emergency and the related medical costs. I guess we are ok as long as we work some big company providing reasonable health coverage. Bench time with the desi firms could be a wrong time to get sick.

Hello,
I e-filed my AP on March 4th ( this was my 2nd AP application; the first one was paper file in July 2007)
When i check the case status online it gives me a message "your case can not be found".
Any idea what it might be?
I tried several time calling the 1-800 service number but I am not getting to talk to a real person.

Encouraging. Darryl Issa, the powerful new GOP House Oversight Committee Chair, has introduced this bill in the past, but with the change in party control, he's got a lot more clout this time around. Issa is proposing replacing the green card lottery's annual green card allotment with a new green card category for US-educated graduates in the science, technology, math and engineering fields. Frankly, the lottery is a program that is always under attack and I'd rather see the program's numbers go to increasing either the family or employment categories. My sponsoring company received an Audit Letter from INS today. Is this the norm in today's scenerio when one applies for labor for a new Green card process?
How alarming is it? What are its effects on Labor application?

I got RFE on my wife's 131...
Last time we took our photos at Ritz Camera...they accepted mine but held her case due to these photo issue...
My attorney received this RFE and he scanned it for me..
Do we have to submit the entire app now?

HI, i filed for my sons GC with an i-130. i received an I-797C saying it had been approved n a priority date of 02/26/2004. we have been waiting for years now i just checked the priority date and its already past that if im reading correctly its now at july 04...i am a US resident. i called the NVC but the automated service told me they are still processing visas from 1999?? What should i do?? can anyone give me decent advice on this? Thank you...

I am guessing it should be OK. if at all it needs redirection they will do it internally. besides you can check in your online case status about the RFE or call NSC if you need.

I think we need to expose employers who are taking advantage of us in different ways just because we are stuck with them due to retrogression. This way if we cannot change the legislation right away we can atleast scare the crooks by exposing them so that they cannot trap new people.
