3 reasons:
1. The work - when I came here the work I was interested in wasnt being done back home.
2. The work culture - working under most desi managers is a pain in the backside and really stifling for me.
3. Continuity - set up life here, got married, had my son. Its hard to just pull the plug and walk back.

I had similar issue when trying to refinance
My loan was Jumbo and to bring it to confirmation limits to get better rate the lender
tried doing home equity loan, at the end when we thought every thing was ok
they back and told they cannot give home equity loan because my Green card has not been aproved though I provided the AOS reciept and EAD.
The underwriter is FannieMae.
This for sure is a discrimination, in the current situation we cannot really make any benefit out of low mortgage rates..and the when the ARM is close to expire...god knows how
the interest rates would be.

Is there any reason why they find it difficult to process the available visa# for EB categories, but are able to process much more and then some for FB?
Is it because EB processing is more difficult?
Atleast they would not be able to use the "not enough funds" trump card for the next few years, with all the jul/aug filing.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? Immigrants don't get to vote and may not have other rights such a welfare, social securicty etc. But USA as the greatest democracy on earth provides almost all of the rights to citizens and foreigners alike. In fact you can complain to your local, state & federal lawmakers and they will help you in your problems.
And yes a foreigner has the right to complain about any govt. organization including USCIS if their processes are adversely effecting him or her. These are the basic principles of the US democracy.

I guess the reason for moving back eb2 I dates is strategic. Since they have the whole year to use the 140 K visas, they might be trying to start the year conservatively, trying to honor FIFO.
The aggressive movement of dates in last quarter was ONLY to prevent the visa number wastage.
I think the reason for the retrogression in EB2-I is obvious.
There are only 800 visas available for EB2-I for any given quarter (remember the 7% country quota). The spill overs from EB2-ROW and EB1 start only after few months.
EB2-I will move after the DOS looks at the unused visa numbers from EB2-ROW and EB1, hope fully next quarter.
There are no spill overs into EB3-I, so it won't move any time soon.
Note: I am not commenting on USCIS approving cases with later dates before older priority dates.

My priority date has been current for a year now, but are they processing it? No, because my receipt date is 08/28/2006 and they are only doing 08/07/2006 now (after going back one month in Texas).
Thats right....and currently they have at most 400 for each category to give from July 2nd...and might have already used them for adjudicating old PD's. So, only couple of hundred first comers on July 2nd may benefit if processed based on RD and after that...its a big messy backlog center. They will processed based on PD ONLY.

Jumbo loans are not getting approved for EAD status. Banks are rejecting Jumbo loans (> 417K) if your immigration status is EAD or AOS. I don't have any idea about normal loans (< 417K). But banks are giving Jumbo loans if the status is H-1B.
