I believe that small companies have a big impact too. As someone mentioned, check to see which companies filed GCs in the last 10 years....Infy, TCS or Small body shops?
The notion of H1/L1B is the business not able to find any qualified or willing resource locally. In that case why they are not able/willing to file GC for those guys. Since they want to keep them as slaves...they never file.

The point of this campaign is to send Not $100, not $50, not even $10.

They can deny for whatever reason they think is risky. Banks are looking for reasons to NOT loan right now, as opposed to 2 years ago when everyone waling in were offered free money.
I suggest you go to a reputed FCU or small, regional bank. IMO, they are much better to work with. I recently refinanced a loan with an FCU, originally extended to me by our local bank.
Terms and paperwork is VERY easy, you get to talk to the same people through your application as opposed to a big bank where your papers are pushed around the country every week (my experience with BoA).

our attorney did not port yet. He will (if not automatically ported ) now. I am not sure how one should do, we will port after I-140 approval. I-140 approval time, I am not sure 2 days - 4 months. In my case it took 2 days (premium processing).

Since your PD is June 2003, you could have applied in June 2007 because in June Visa bulletin(released in May ) it moved till April 2004.
This is too good to be true.. How could you apply in June if you are Eb3 with PD Sept 2003? The PD was'nt current in June. Also, how did your 140 get approved in less than a month? Premium Processing was'nt there in July...
I have a PD of Sep 2003. I filed my labor in Nebraska in Sep 2003 and state labor got cleared in a week and federal took 2 weeks. I had my Labour on Oct 2nd. I filed for my 140 and recd approval in 3 months. I had to wait for my 485 filing as I wanted to file it with my spouse who was out of country at that time. Rest of the details are in my signature.
BTW, those who are stuck in BEC's my sympathies are with you, its just pure bad luck your cases got stuck in there. PERM or no PERM this whole GC thing is just matter of timing.

The original poster please correct the mistake here, gcpadmavyuh is right, you could not have applied for 485 in June if you had PD of sep 2003. You could have applied for your 485 as early as March 2005 when the PD dates retrogressed.

I worked for a MNC here in first few yrs at US (from 2000) and they suck up your Tax return , used to give a worthless health insurance and 'sweat shop' ( this probably a worse word than 'chop shop') like allowance for 12-14 hrs of work . If you do NOT accept that or ASK QUESTION your flight tickets back to origin to will be arranged. I know these practices changed to some extent over a period of time but by that time I left them and started doing things on my own ... :) and i'm very happy since then.
Another thing , I worked for good but medium sized consulting firms with US after leaving those shops ( sweat/chop/body whatever kind u call them) and they do maintain perfect balance - hardly 30-40% is H1B - they pay market salary to the H1B's ,standard health insurance , always got paid if i worked beyond 8-9 hrs ...

I am not supporting this bill in anyway, I hate infy as much as I hate this bill. Remember these companies did not leave any stone unturned, milked the client every possible way and expoilted the employees to the maximum extent. In one another post - VLDRao was saying these companies does the tax filing on behalf the emoloyee, get the refund and again claim that tax in india using double taxation aoivdance treaty.

Instead of ruining our life running after GC, here are few options
1) if you really want to live in a developed country, move to Canada or Australia. their process is much simpler and faster
2) cash out your investments and move to India. you might end up back in US on L1 :)
3) since some of us have had babies here, wait till they can sponsor you.
i have personally done 2 of the above. I have a Canadian PR and i have established contacts in India in case i need a job there. What am i doing here? saving as much money as i can, and waiting for the right opportunity in Canada or India. GC can kiss my ......., i got better things to do in life.
Let's stop wasting our time and pages on ALTERNATIVES (Canada, Australia, India, or timbaktu). Those who are serious about the alternatives just opt for those. We are here to fight our case for increased visa numbers and lets do that.

This is the first receipt i am noticing for an application received on July 2nd at 7:55AM and signed by R. Williams.
All other recipts so far were either received at 9 AM or 10:25 Am or so (july 2nd, 3rd, 5th etc) but none of them were at 7:55 AM.

I want to be here for good unless asked to leave. But at times it frustrates me to think that I will be well over age of 40 when I get my green card (Assuming that nothing will happen to alleviate the retrogression issue)...
And I keep asking myself whether its worth the wait (Waiting for 10 or 15 years and working for same employer and same position) ... I think its a valid question.
