Hello there,
I called it took me less than 5 minutes. I expressed my concern and the lady on the phone said she will pass on the message. However the Rep at present has not made any stand. Guys come on make some calls.
To the administrator and the to the Senior members, an idea came to my mid in order to galvanize some lazy members to work with us, can we restrict their entries to this website? Maybe keep something like, access will be granted only if a certain criteria is fulfilled.
It is a shame for all the Indians who are stuck and waiting for others to help them through this, my suggestion either work with everyone on this, or simply just go back to India, where they system is even more corrupted.
Last but not the least, people here are not wasting their time, neither unemployed, but they want to stand a fight for what's right and what's wrong.
I thought coming from India, will make us all stand united, but some people just don't care neither act but complain to god for their grievances.
Guys get up, move, help us out, we all need each other on this. Revolution can only bring a change---- not the wait and not the complaint.

Well it seems the idea to get a Stimulus for 2008 for people having spouses with ITIN is nearing dead end (no action). Now the government is planning another stimulus. I think we should work on taking the necessary steps to prevent the same happening this year (being dropped out). I think we should raise awareness and write to all people including President Obama.

Hope you had a great time at the other attractions with your parents... though it wouldn't have been a bad idea to bring your parents along as well to the attractions where yours and your parents' presence may have helped your cause.... :)
First of all - THANK YOU. It's because of IV I am happy today with EAD cards on hand. I will never forget what IV did for me and thousands of GC applications in July. I can't forget the despair and the smiles IV brought back to our lives.
More of a reason to be there, one would think! Apparently you found a better way to be thankful..
Probable reason - less motivated for couple of reasons which are already spelled out on this forum by others.
However I hoped to be part of rally towards the end. But couldn't. My parents came to USA last Friday. I did plan to combine my parents D.C tour with IV rally. But as such we happened to drop-in to D.C, unexpectedly, from Baltimore on Sunday itself. And on Tuesday 9/18 - all important day, we were busy packing to other attractions....

Rally agenda - from the start, the D.C rally has not seemed need-based rally. San Jose rally and flower campaign were need-based. They were needed because USCIS ditched all July hopefuls. We were aghast and speech-less. So there was that burning-sensation in our tummies that took us to streets and greet the USCIS chief with bloody flowers!!
D.C rally has been strategic one.
Is your position that you don't participate in strategic efforts? :)
Somewhere in the beginning of the game, we pushed wrong buttons in marketing/selling the strategy or signing up people for the D.C rally. I remember very very few messages on the rally forums and tons and 100s of messages on "July 2" forum.
All senior fellows and the 1000+ members who made it to rally - have you surprised why there is NO 5000 - 10000 attendance.
Some more pointers to my thoughts -

For your first query: Write a letter stating why you would need AP.. You can write something like you would want to visit your family (for marriages, medical emergencies, other reasons and as well to be with family members for vacation etc).. anything you think is a reason can go here..
for the second query: You can send the PP photos along with your supporting documents. It should expedite the process as well as first time AP needs PP photo sent..

Ok,
so the the US lists, the catagories as Mexico, India, china, and the philpines.
that is 4 counties..... with what ever percentage of the total visas..
But ROW the rest of the world.....how many countries is that???? i am guessing lots... i personally am only conserned with the UK as that is where i am at the moment. so how do i go about finding the number of visa's that the UK is aloted per year? in EB catagories.
because i dont see how if say Germay, or Italy used up all there visas for the year, but the rest of the world hadent, or even half and half....how can the entire of the rest of the world be retrogressed.??? is there not a list of how indervidual countries are retrogressed....? if this is stupid please say though, but i think it is quite a valid question.

First of all let us applaud the effort and commitment of needhelp and the many other committed members of Immigration Voice. I think it takes a lot to sacrifice personal time for an effort that others may benefit from but who may not see or recognize it.
Having said that some of the posts on this forum are emotional responses. I think we need to keep in perspective that "galvanizing people to a goal" is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. IMHO chastising "wake up" call speeches is not going to help. That is not to say that some of what is being said is not right. But I ask why should we chastise anybody?
At the moment I seem to be the only member of the NM Chapter (hopefully that will change). But frankly, it took me more than a year to buy into Immigration Voice and it's value. I have only recently started getting involved. As I see it, if someone visits this website (even for an update or to read forum discussions - as I did) they see value in coming here. Recognition of value brings commitment. But that also takes time. Maybe a lot of people cannot commit in ways we want them to commit. Maybe a lot of people choose not to. We should wish all of them the very best of luck.
Should we be disappointed? Sure. But we should also keep in perspective that it is their choice and we have to be "okay" with that.
On the other side, I was pleasantly surprised that in 10 days we were able to collect 2/3 rds of our target for the omnibus bill. That is an awesome feat. People can choose to be part of it or not. It is really up to them. I know I will have stories to tell.

I am not blaming the Core at all, they are doing whateven they can given the limited resources, time and influence they have. But, what I am blaming, is the the "holier than thou" attitude which is adopted when distinguishing between those that are the exalted DONORS and those that aren't :)
oh ya, so you have a problem with donor status? Why don't you start with your cable company and ask them why do they charge you any money? Why don't you ask the gas station, that why do they charge you for the gas? Why don't you argue with the cashier at Walmart about the bill you have to pay if you want something? Its easy to be dismissive of others. Its even easier to fault others and argue that just because no one shared the information, so I have license to throw stones at others. But being an Eb2 highly skilled humanity savior personality that you are, why do you need a 3rd class Eb3 programmer to show you that it cost money to get things done. Why can't you see that in last 8 months this nation was going under a presidential election and nothing got done on any issue, other than bailouts and budget? Why can't you see that nothing has happened in the Congress on immigration for any other group? Why can't an highly skilled highly educated chanakya of this planet not see that it is ok for everyone to praise some immigration lawyers who are known to deliberately delay green card application, but its not ok to ridicule someone sincerely working to fix my issue? And most people on this forum who rail against the treatment of Indians might want to think about why they left India in the first place. India is by and large an extremely unfair place to live. There is constant discrimination. We left because we wanted to lead a decent life without pandering to someone all the time. Everyone from India on this forum was fortunate enough to be educated enough that they could afford to make that choice. There are a billion people who can't make that choice. And they are in India. We chose to abandon them and come live among what we percieved to be a fairer society. And it is, in a lot of ways. Do not be hasty to judge through the glasses of pent-up frustration about your current circumstance. If you have a personal experience that you thought was not fair, tell them at that moment why it's not cool. And by and large, they will stop or at least empathize with you. Try that back in India - tell your local politician why you think he's not doing a good job and see how well that goes.
